The Art and Times of Correggio
On the 4th May 2008 the Correggio Exhibition sponsored Parma Football Club on the occasion of the match versus Genoa.
For the first time in the history of Italian football, an international art exhibition sponsored a First Division football team. The great “Correggio” exhibition, which is being held in the Emilian city from September 20th is one of the most important art European exhibitions of 2008. The exhibition sponsored Parma FC for the match played on Sunday May 4th between Parma and Genoa at the Tardini Stadium, a game Parma won 1-0. That day the Parma players wore a special shirt dedicated to the exhibition. As part of the collaboration between Parma FC and the “Correggio Exhibition” the Committee wanted to raise the profile of the Exhibition to as wide an audience as possible. The idea was to give Parma national and international visibility to promote it as an international cultural centre. It should also be pointed out that because of this Parma FC shows in a very original way the similar values of culture and sport. It was an innovative project which began in 2007 together with the Agency for Special Events of the Parma City Council. In this partnership Parma Football Club will now become a sponsor of the “Correggio” exhibition.
